Trigger Your Survey Remotely (Professional Accounts):
The following feature is only available in the Professional Package. This feature essentially enables a CRM, ERP, Help Desk, or virtually any other system to launch a survey from your SurveyMethods.com account.
Example:
ABC Company has a customer support helpdesk system. Every time a customer calls in to report a problem, the ABC support representative creates a ticket and attempts to resolve the customer's issue. After the call is completed ABC sends a survey to the customer to obtain feedback on his/her support experience. ABC uses the SurveyMethods.com Remote Trigger feature to do this automatically. ABC's helpdesk system communicates with SurveyMethods.com and "tells" SurveyMethods.com to send the "Customer Experience" survey in ABC's Surveymethods.com account to the customer's email address. This is all done automatically. ABC also instructs SurveyMethods.com to link the customer ID, and the case ID to the survey response.
Here is what you need to do to automate the process:
Have your technical team configure your CRM, Help Desk or other type of system to automatically send an email to SurveyMethods with the email addresses you want to send your surveys to. Here is how you do it (see further below for specifics):
  1. An automatic email should be sent to smra@surveymethods.com
  2. The subject line must contain the login email address of the SurveyMethods account holder.
  3. The first line in the body of the email must contain the survey code (the survey code is visible on the settings page of the survey).
  4. The subsequent lines must contain one or more email addresses (one per line) to send the survey to.
Basic Example (see picture below for example):
The example below is configured accordingly:
  1. The 'To' address is smra@surveymethods.com
  2. The email must be structured exactly in the way shown below with all the tags.
  3. The email must contain the login id, survey code (available on the settings screen), email address and custom field values, and custom field labels.
  4. Each email address is followed by a comma, the first custom value, another comma, second custom value, etc., with a maximum of 5 custom values.
