A strategic planning process that originated with the QS-9000 business
management philosophy. APQP comprises five phases of product planning: 1) plan
and define the program; 2) product design and development; 3) process design
and development; 4) product and process validation; and launch, feedback,
assessment, and corrective action. The purpose of APQP is to provide a business
with needs assessments in advance of each stage of the production process, to
help neutralize potential problems before they arise and fulfill production
objectives efficiently and successfully. |
