Our names are Michael Wong and Sathiavaani Gunaseelan and this research will contribute to the completion of our Post-Graduate Diplomas in Psychology at Monash University. We are working under the supervision of Professor Grahame Coleman and Dr Samia Toukhsati who are lecturers in the School of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University.
All information you provide will remain confidential and anonymous. We anticipate that it may take up to 30minutes of your time to complete this survey.
This survey is being answered by 500 adults in Singapore to determine their attitudes towards a range of issues regarding cat ownership and management. The information gained from this survey may be published in a scientific journal and may also be used to assist future government policy and legislative decisions relating to domestic pet and stray animal management strategies in Singapore.
You are eligible to participate in this survey if: • You are 18 years of age or older • You have lived in Singapore for at least 2 years or longer
Only group data will be reported so individual responses cannot be identified
Instructions for questionnaire completion • Please read each question carefully • For each survey question, providing an answer is optional • The questions are about your opinions and behaviours regarding various issues concerning cat ownership and management.
In accordance with Monash University policy, all data is securely stored in a password protected database and accessible only to researchers working directly on this project. Data is aggregated and analysed as a group and no findings that could identify any individual will be published. You can withdraw at any time while you are filling out the questionnaire but you may not request that your information be withdrawn after you have completed the questionnaire. The research findings will be published in the form of two theses and will be available on the websites that you had completed the questionnaire in. The findings are accessible for one year.
