Consent Form Description of the Study
The purpose of this study is to further research the relationship between different types of dreams and how they are affected by video game play. You will be asked various questions about different types of dreams (e.g. lucid dreams, bad dreams, and psychic dreams). These questions include the frequency with which you have had that dream type and an example of the most recent occurrence of that dream. Additionally, you will be asked to indicate the emotions and their intensity you felt associated with each dream. Because of your participation, we will be better able to understand how virtual reality, especially video games, affects what and how people dream. The questionnaire will take about 40 minutes to finish. Your participation in this research is valuable because it contributes to the growth of our knowledge about the effects of video game play.
Your Participation is Completely Voluntary
If you encounter a question you prefer not to answer, you may skip that question and move onto the next question. Also you may choose to withdraw from the study at anytime you wish, if this is the case you can immediately exit the study by closing the web page. At the end of the study you will also be given a debriefing about the reasons for doing this research. It will include the hypothesis, expected results, and follow-up information should you require it.
