Title of the Research Project: Network for European Researchers in New Zealand
Investigator: Gina Deerness-Plesner (Principal Investigator) e-mail: gina.deerness-plesner@frenz.org.nz tel: +64 3 364 2987 ext 3117
Sponsors: The European Commission (EC) and the New Zealand Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST).
Purpose of the Research: The Network for European Researchers in New Zealand study aims to identify NZ-based European researchers in order to achieve a better understanding of both the number and motivations for, and perceived barriers to, researcher mobility and the opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The research will also lead to the establishment of web-based information and networking services for researchers who voluntarily register for inclusion within the Network for European Researchers in New Zealand database.
Description of the Research: You have been identified as a potential survey participant. The questionnaire should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. It will ask questions about your current research activities, which information and services you may find useful concerning your links with other European researchers in both NZ and Europe, and your experiences of Europe-NZ research collaboration.
Access to Research Information: Only the Principal Investigator will have access to the raw data concerning the completed surveys and consent forms, and this data will be kept separate and secured electronically as password protected files for up to seven years.
Data with no identifying information will be shared with MoRST, accessible only to specific and responsible personnel and secured in the same manner, for the same period, in order to build upon the Network for European Researchers in New Zealand initiative and develop further MoRST policies and programmes to enhance Europe-NZ research links.
